I was a little skeptical because it’s small, but the XB-40T handled my camera and lens without any drama. The panning motion is smooth, and once locked, it doesn’t slowly creep like my old cheap ball head did.
I use it mostly for photography and some range days. It pans smoothly, locks firmly, and doesn’t feel wobbly. If you’re running very heavy gear, I’d go bigger, but for a lightweight setup this is a solid choice.
I bought the XB-40T for a lighter hunting tripod setup and it honestly surprised me. It locks down tighter than I expected for its size, and the 360 pan is smooth enough for scanning without feeling loose
